Distech Controls connects people with intelligent building solutions — IP-native, open-protocol controls built around better health, better spaces, and better efficiencies. Salmon Mechanical is an authorized Distech reseller supplying, installing, and supporting the full ecosystem.
Distech Controls describes its mission as connecting people with intelligent building solutions through forward-thinking technologies and services. Its three stated outcomes — better health, better spaces, and better efficiencies — are a useful shorthand for how the product line is designed: the controls exist to serve the people in the room, not just the equipment in the mechanical room.
A passion for innovation, quality, and sustainability guides the business, which serves multiple market segments worldwide through its own divisions and service offices plus a network of Authorized System Integrators and Distributors. Salmon Mechanical is part of that authorized network in Utah.
ECLYPSE is Distech's modern, IP-based automation platform, and it is the reason most owners choose the brand. The controllers use BACnet/IP and standard IT conventions, which delivers genuine IP connectivity and open integration with any building management system — rather than a proprietary trunk that only one vendor can touch.
You can deploy ECLYPSE over wired IP, Wi-Fi, or both on the same controller, which matters more than it sounds. In a retrofit where pulling new cable through an occupied floor is expensive or impossible, wireless controllers can pick up the zones that wire can't reach without compromising the rest of the system.
The range covers system and equipment control (the ECY-CSC connected system controller), VAV control (ECY-VAV), general-purpose controllers such as the ECY-203, and the ECLYPSE Connected Thermostat for spaces that need a smart, network-attached interface rather than a full controller.
ECLYPSE speaks BACnet MS/TP, BACnet/IP, BACnet/SC, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, MQTT, and M-Bus — enough coverage to bring legacy equipment, metering, and modern IoT services onto one system. BACnet/SC in particular gives you secure BACnet over standard IT infrastructure, which is increasingly what a client's IT department will insist on.
The Allure communicating sensor family is where occupants actually meet the system: UNITOUCH touchscreen interfaces, EC-Smart-Comfort, EC-Smart-Air, and the EC-Smart-Vue series. The EC-Smart-Vue line alone comprises eight models for precise environmental zone control, and interfaces with Distech's ECL LonWorks controllers, ECB BACnet controllers, and ECLYPSE BACnet/IP and Wi-Fi controllers — so sensor choice isn't locked to controller generation.
The newer Resense Move and Resense Air series extend this into occupancy and indoor air quality sensing, which is what most modern comfort and ventilation strategies are actually driven by.
Atrius Facilities simplifies installation and maintenance and increases the efficiency of building operations, with ECLYPSE controllers supporting it natively. Alongside it, Distech's BMS software suite provides the supervisory front end for day-to-day facility management. Together they give an owner a cloud view across sites without giving up local control when the internet is down.
Distech's reference projects span corporate headquarters, education, and mixed-use retail — including Sony's North America Headquarters, St. Columba's School, and Yorkville Village. It is a platform that holds up in demanding, highly visible buildings.
As an authorized Distech reseller we supply, install, commission, and support the complete Distech ecosystem — and because we're also a full-scope mechanical contractor, the controls arrive as part of a coordinated mechanical scope rather than a separate sub with separate excuses. If you want open protocols and flexibility instead of proprietary lock-in, Distech is usually the first platform we put on the table.
